It All Began with Wheat Gluten: Part II

July 28, 2013January 9, 2023 / Writings By Rosemary / 22 Comments

(Click here for It All Began With Wheat Gluten: Part I) Hook loves to brag, “I almost didn’t get a second date!” If it hadn’t been for the wheat gluten, he may not have. Neither Hook nor I were the common 20 to 30-year-olds when we met. I was 42 and Hook was 53.  His balding … Continue reading It All Began with Wheat Gluten: Part II

It All Began with Wheat Gluten: Part I

July 19, 2013September 22, 2023 / Writings By Rosemary / 15 Comments

Wheat gluten.  Not the most romantic offer a man can give a woman but if the man is Hook and the woman is me, it becomes a gift that leads to falling in love which leads to marriage which leads to caring for someone until they do not need your care anymore. When Hook and … Continue reading It All Began with Wheat Gluten: Part I

The Gift of Time

May 23, 2013October 20, 2024 / Writings By Rosemary / 28 Comments

There was this whole story I was concocting in my head about how to lead you to the updated news.  Perhaps if I had cried less in the last month I could muster the enthusiasm and passion I normally feel, but since I’ve had to put my big girl panties on then I’m going to … Continue reading The Gift of Time

Stay Tuned

May 22, 2013February 26, 2017 / Writings By Rosemary / 4 Comments

I read the other day that it’s rude for an author not to respond when comments are made on their blog.  I’d stopped responding to comments months ago because I worried it might be rude to have a public response to otherwise private people. Please know that I read every single comment even … Continue reading Stay Tuned

No Matter What

April 30, 2013November 13, 2013 / Writings By Rosemary / 12 Comments

When I wrote Anything is Possible it was with two goals in mind.   One was to infuriate my husband into action.  Score:  0.5.   I erroneously made the assumption people would pick up the phone or email him and ask Why did she write that? What’s going on? Or better, Why is your head up … Continue reading No Matter What

Anything is Possible

April 16, 2013February 10, 2024 / Writings By Rosemary / 15 Comments

I’m at home this morning while Hook waits at the hospital for the case manager to stop by and give the okay for a Tuesday release. Over the weekend, the doctors were able to contain the blood clot by putting in a filter of sorts to prevent the clot from rising farther up the body.  … Continue reading Anything is Possible

Who is Rosemary?

Unknown's avatarA writer, runner, and talent recruiter, I tell true tales on the stage and the page in the U.S. and the U.K. After winning two Moth StorySLAMS in Houston and London and opening at the Paramount Theatre ATX in 2024 for The Moth’s annual mainstage event, I'm returning to my writing roots. I launched two, one-act plays, The Mystery of the Plaid Shirts and the commissioned, A Pest Control Affair, via Hyde Park’s Frontera Fest. In 2025, I co-wrote my first screenplay, a comedy adventure about the intimacy needs and wants of women in the middle of their lives. My current WIP is a collection of essays + corresponding screenplay, working title *In the Land of Oz.* And ... if you’re into #Education and #Research, check out the Hook Wild Basin Endowment at WildBasin.org. Created by my late husband, Hook, and me our endowment awards up to 5 Hook Fellows $8,000/year with over 85 Hook Fellows to date. #NatureMatters.
