Hook Story: A Timeless Bromance

November 25, 2013January 30, 2014 / Writings By Rosemary / 2 Comments

Bromance was alive and well in the friendship between Hook and his Canadian friend, Kelly Scott.  Whenever Kelly would blow into town, the exchange between these two men was always the same: Hook:  "Dr. Scott." Kelly:  "Dr. Hook." Hook:  "Meow." I often wondered if Kelly's visits would have been complete if he hadn't heard Hook's … Continue reading Hook Story: A Timeless Bromance

A friend came into town unexpectedly and as old friends will do, we sat up talking and catching up until 3 o'clock in the morning which meant that I fell behind in my blog posting.   But, this did help me to choose from the Hook Stories ... a series of short snippets from one … Continue reading Hook Stories: Growing Up in New Jersey

"And think not, you can direct the course of love; for love, if it finds you worthy, directs your course."  - Kahlil Gibran  -    -     - It started with the light bulbs and ended with the cockroach.  Two light bulbs blew out.  The first was in the master bathroom which went dark about a month … Continue reading Here But Not Here

Who is Rosemary?

Unknown's avatarA writer, runner, and talent recruiter, I tell true tales on the stage and the page in the U.S. and the U.K. After winning two Moth StorySLAMS in Houston and London and opening at the Paramount Theatre ATX in 2024 for The Moth’s annual mainstage event, I'm returning to my writing roots. I launched two, one-act plays, The Mystery of the Plaid Shirts and the commissioned, A Pest Control Affair, via Hyde Park’s Frontera Fest. In 2025, I co-wrote my first screenplay, a comedy adventure about the intimacy needs and wants of women in the middle of their lives. My current WIP is a collection of essays + corresponding screenplay, working title *In the Land of Oz.* And ... if you’re into #Education and #Research, check out the Hook Wild Basin Endowment at WildBasin.org. Created by my late husband, Hook, and me our endowment awards up to 5 Hook Fellows $8,000/year with over 85 Hook Fellows to date. #NatureMatters.
